Top Ten Energy Saving Tips
A CIAC Rhetorical Questionnaire
How often do you ask yourself these questions?
- Does that light need to be left on in the empty room?
- Have I remembered to turn the TV right off rather than leave it on stand-by?
- Do I really need to take the car on that short journey?
- When I next need to change a light bulb, will I buy a cheap, inefficient one or a long lasting, energy efficient bulb that, in the long term, will cost me less?
- Will it really make a difference to how warm I am if I turn down the thermostat by one degree? It will make a welcome difference to your bill.
- When I next fill the kettle will I be making more than one cup of tea or coffee? If not, have I boiled more water than necessary and wasted energy as a result.
- Have I recycled as much plastic, cardboard, glass, etc as I could have done?
- When I next buy a fridge, or a cooker or another electrical appliance, will I make 'A' rated energy users my priority?
- Have I left my phone, MP3, etc recharging much longer than is necessary?
- When I plan my next holiday, will I think of staying in this country so that I don't have to fly?
